A kangaroo in Paris...

Saturday afternoon was also spent visiting the usual Parisian sights: the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Cathedral - both grand and beautiful in their own right. There was a sense of deja vu about the afternoon (having visited both landmarks back in 2007), but it certainly didn't take the shine off the reunion.

La Tour Eiffel (or The Iron Lady) had many a tourist posing for photos and waiting patiently in the long lines to ascend to the top. While over at Notre Dame I marvelled once again at the gargoyles perched up high and happily listened to the church bells chime.

On Ile Saint-Louis (the island just behind Notre Dame) you can purchase the famous Berthillon glace (ice-cream). It's well worth a visit to one of the many ice-cream shops selling this delicacy - just be prepared to queue.

  2. Haha, I think you had something to do with that title! Things are going well and I'm still trying to perfect the basics. :) Lots of bread, cheese and pastries consumed so far... and there's a great little restaurant around the corner that makes a mean pistachio creme brulee!!
