After packing, re-packing and stressing that I had way too many clothes, the kind check-in assistant at Brisbane International Airport turned a blind eye and said nothing about the 1.4kg of extra luggage. Such a relief!
And... in a sheer moment of serendipity... she even told me that her best friend was currently doing a six-month writers residency in the heart of Paris and that I should look her up. Seemed like a good sign to me!
The kindness of strangers left me feeling all warm and fuzzy as I bid adieu to Brisbane :)
