Canal St Martin

Thanks to Lonely Planet for the tip-off... I had no idea I was staying so close to Canal St Martin! This little gem is located in the 10th arrondissement and has a funky, artsy vibe with plenty of inviting bars and cafes.

Walking along the canal, admiring the street art and the chilled atmosphere made me feel like I was back in Amsterdam. It was the perfect way to spend a Saturday morning (away from the tourist traps) and I even made a return trip for dinner that night.
